1st Birthday Cake Smash
Session fee: $300 for the birthday child only. (Cannot accommodate family/siblings as babies typically get too tired during the session and can become fussy for their cake.)
Includes: the time and talent of photographer, the location of your choice or studio and the professional editing that goes into each photo. No prints included.
locally made coordinating 6" smash cake, please advise of any known food allergies.
Session begins with regular portraits in two or three outfits of your choice then we finish up with the cake smash and a warm bath to clean up.
Custom cake smash collage file in 2 sizes- 12x12 and 8x10
20-25 high resolution hand edited images in colour for you to reprint at a lab of your choice- Photos are delivered through digital download.
Session Details
We start the session with “regular” photos in a few outfits of your choice. I have a handful of items at my home studio for babies to wear too so I may pull those out for a couple shots. Included in your session fee is a 6” smash cake and balloons, I will ask you if there are certain colours you’d prefer or a theme you’d like and will arrange the cake and props to match - I tend to lean towards simpler photos so it’s possible not all theme requests can be accommodated but I will do my best and of course you are welcome to bring along items if you like. Leading up to your cake smash session it’s a good idea to have baby “practice” touching different food textures or allowing them to hand feed themselves mashed fruit or veggies so they know it’s ok to get messy. It’s not uncommon for a baby to be quite reluctant to get their hands in the cake if they’ve never done something similar before and can sometimes become upset when faced with mucky hands so practice makes perfect. We cannot accommodate adding family or sibling photos as babies tend to get fussy by the time the cake comes out. I’d love to book you in for a family session at another time!
